Over the years, Adele has released many successful songs and today she is one of the most loved singers because of her beautiful voice: here are some curiosities you might not have known about her!
Adele's musical idols
As we said, Adele's interest in music started during her childhood, thanks to listening to groups such as the Spice Girls and Destiny's Child, of which Beyoncé was a member. The Texan artist is one of her favourite singers, and it seems that the two songwriters have on more than one occasion thought about making a single together. Adele's musical role models also include soul singers Ella Fitzgerald and Etta James.
Adele and the famous study colleagues
Adele graduated from the prestigious BRIT School For Performing Arts & Technology in Croydon. And in those years, her colleagues included two other singers who would later achieve success, namely Jessie J and Leona Lewis.
Adele has a phobia of seagulls
Adele's fear stems from a childhood trauma. In fact, the singer stated that when she was nine years old, while walking on the beach with an ice cream, she was attacked by a seagull that swooped down on her to snatch the ice cream. Adele revealed that she had a scar on her neck caused by the beak of that seagull.

Rankings
01/12/2023
In 2008, 'Rolling Stone' compiled a list of the 100 best singers of all time.
This ranking was compiled 15 years ago by 180 people, including several musicians (e.g. Bruce Springsteen, Rod Stewart, Justin Timberlake, George Michael, Keith Richards), journalists and music experts.
On 1 January 2023, however, 'Rolling Stone' published an update of the ranking that revolutionised the list, especially with regard to the Top Ten. As the well-known US magazine was keen to point out, this ranking does not only take into account technical and vocal abilities (it is not a list of the best voices of all time), but also the originality of the vocal timbre, the record catalogue, the writing ability and the musical legacy of the singers in question. Here are the top 20 positions.
