Music and wine: who are the winemaker singers

Many singers cultivate special hobbies when they are not busy making records or on long tours.

Some have a passion for the countryside and wine and have decided to turn it into an economic investment, becoming entrepreneurs.

Wine is agriculture and also culture, history, sociality that goes back centuries and in recent decades is also synonymous with environmental sustainability.

Jon Bon Jovi
Since 2017, Bon Jovi's frontman has been producing a wine called 'Diving into Hampton Water': it is a rosé blend of Grenache, Cinsault and Mourvèdre, born out of Jon's collaboration with his son Jesse, thanks to the advice of French oenologist Gérard Bertrand. This wine was voted the best rosé of the year in 2018 by 'Wine Spectator', which also included it in its list of the 100 best wines of 2018.

Madonna
The iconic pop star followed in the footsteps of her father, who owned the 'Ciccone Vineyard & Winery': in the early 2000s, Madonna took over a large part of her father's winery, dedicating herself to the production of Chardonnay. Her company often produced limited-edition bottles and unique pieces, which featured Madonna herself.

Andrea Bocelli
The Italian tenor was born in Tuscany and his wine business could only be based in his homeland: Bocelli is involved in the production of seven types of wine, including the historic 'Sangiovese' and 'Brunello di Montalcino'.

Mary J. Blige
For a short time, Mary J. Blige also devoted herself to wines: in particular, the singer-songwriter produced two limited edition bottles, called 'Sun Goddess Wines'. These wines were very fine: a coppery Pinot grigio and a 'Sauvignon blanc', produced in collaboration with the northern Italian winery 'Fantinel'.
