What would music stars who died at age 27 look like today

'Club 27' is a journalistic expression referring to a number of songwriters and musicians, mostly from a rock background, who all died at the age of 27. 

This project, created with the support of Artificial Intelligence by artist Gil Finkelstein (Instagram account @gilfinkelstein), shows what these great musicians of the past would look like today if they had not all left when they were still very young.

Kurt Cobain (February 20, 1967 - April 5, 1994)
Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain took his own life in 1994. A moving farewell letter dedicated to his family and fans was found next to him, a letter in which the singer-songwriter tried to make the rest of the world understand all his inner torment.

Janis Joplin (Jan. 19, 1943 - Oct. 4, 1970)
Janis Joplin, interpreter of historic songs such as 'Piece of my Heart' and 'Cry Baby', was found dead in a Los Angeles hotel: the autopsy established that the death was due to drug abuse.

Jimi Hendrix (November 27, 1942 - September 18, 1970)
Jimi Hendrix was found dead in the flat he had rented in London. His girlfriend reported that Hendrix had been suffocated by a sudden vomiting fit, caused by a cocktail of alcohol and tranquilisers. Jimi was voted the best guitarist of all time by 'Rolling Stone' magazine.

Amy Winehouse (September 14, 1983 - July 23, 2011)
Her voice was unmistakable, but unfortunately Amy Winehouse was also famous for her serious addiction problems and eating disorders, which she also often talked about in her songs. Amy was found dead in bed at her home in London. The death was due to a so-called 'stop and go', i.e. an excessive intake of alcohol after a long period of abstinence.

Jim Morrison (December 8, 1943 - July 3, 1971)
The charming frontman of The Doors died in Paris on the night of 3 July. During the night Pamela Courson, his girlfriend, woke up, hearing him vomiting: he refused to call a doctor and decided to take a bath instead. In the morning, Pam got out of bed and discovered Morrison's lifeless body still submerged in the tub.
