Aerosmith announce the farewell tour after half a century of music

Aerosmith are preparing to burn up the stage for the last time, with a 'world' tour (which then, as is often the case, world means North America) that will feature no less than 40 dates, and will be an opportunity to celebrate a legendary career.

After 50 years of success and 150 million records sold, 'Peace Out' will be the Boston band's last tour, as announced by those involved. The tour will start on 2 September in Philadelphia and will end on 26 January 2024 in Montreal.

Drummer Joey Kramer will not be there, due to health problems, and the show will be opened by the Black Crowes.

The drummer Joey Kramer will not be there.
The only founding member who will be missing on this tour is drummer Joey Kramer. This is how the band commented on his absence: "Although Joey Kramer remains a beloved founding member of Aerosmith, he has unfortunately made the decision to skip the currently scheduled tour dates in order to focus all of his attention on his family and his health. Joey's unmistakable and legendary presence behind the drums will be sorely missed."

The words of guitarist Joe Perry
It will be a big party for everyone, as guitarist Joe Perry, 72, was also keen to point out: 'It's kind of a celebration of 50 years that we've been around. You never know how long we're all going to be healthy enough to do it. It's been a while since we've done a proper tour. There was a 'The Resident' in Las Vegas, which was great, fun, but we're a little anxious to get back on the road."

Black Crowes will be opening the concerts
Having the honour of performing before Aerosmith will be the Black Cowes, an American rock band from Atlanta, founded in 1984. 'Melody Maker' called them 'the most rock'n'roll band in the world'. They were also named the 'best new American band' in the 1990 'Rolling Stone' poll and occupy position 92 on VH1's list of the 100 most important hard rock artists.
