1945: Rod Stewart was born
Sir Roderick David Stewart was born on January 10, 1945 at number 507 Archway Road, in the London suburb of Highgate. Characterized by a hoarse and scratchy voice, Stewart is one of the most successful musicians of all time, able to sell a total of over 250 million records worldwide.

1949: the first 45 rpm is born
The 45 rpm, or 7'', was announced on January 10, 1949 by RCA Records, one of the most important record labels in the world. Small and fragile, but practical and cheap, these vinyls were produced by RCA to respond to the Columbia Records, which a year earlier had introduced the 33 rpm. Generally, on the A side the most significant song was recorded, intended for radio. The first single at 45 rpm was Texarkana Baby of Eddy Arnold.

Michael Schenker was born in Sarstedt, Germany. Schenker is known to have been the guitarist of Scorpions, UFO and Michael Schenker Group. Michael was hired in the Scorpions by his older brother Rudolf: however, two years after the founding of the band, Michael will leave the group to devote himself to UFO.

1964: The Beatles release their first album in the United States
Introducing... The Beatles is the first album by the Liverpool group to be released in the United States. Originally released for release in July 1963, the album was released six months later. The album was the subject of many legal battles, but still managed to sell over 1.3 million copies until the end of 1964.

1995: Rory Gallagher performs in his last concert
William Rory Gallagher was an Irish musician known for his blues-rock productions and his incredible talent with the guitar. Gallagher performed for the last time on January 10, in the Netherlands: addicted to alcohol, he died five months later from a series of complications related to the liver transplant to which he had been subjected. It is said that immediately after performing in Woodstock, Jimi Hendrix was asked what it felt like to be the best guitarist in the world: Jimi replied to the journalist that it would be better to ask this question to Rory Gallagher.

2003: Police recover 500 tapes master of stolen Beatles from Abbey Road  studios
These tapes were stolen thirty years earlier from the historic studios of Abbey Road: the tapes contained a total of about 80 hours of recording, including Get Back/Let It Be sessions and about 200 covers. The discovery was part of theOperation Acetone, an investigation that had as its purpose the search for these tapes. The works were traced to England and Holland, where five people were attempting to resell them for around £270,000.

2016: David Bowie dies
Two days after turning 69, David Bowie died in New York, struck down by liver cancer. Just on January 8, 2016 he released his latest album, Blackstar. Famous remains the last single, Lazarus, considered the spiritual testament of The Thin White Duke: the videoclip of the song shows Bowie, seriously ill, lying on his deathbed in a cold room.

2018: Eddie Clarke dies
Born in Twickenham in 1950, "Fast" Eddie Clarke was one of the best guitarists in the world, known for being part of the Motörhead e dei Fastway. Clarke died on 10 January 2018 in London, where he had been hospitalized for pneumonia.
