Bands in which the guitarist is the last remaining original member
There are so many bands in which, compared to the original line-up, the guitarist is the last one still working.
We are talking about some of the most famous bands in the world, where, for a variety of reasons, the other band members are no longer part of the team. Some of these groups, however, continue to exist with the support of new members or of singers and session musicians.
Browse through the photo gallery to see the bands where the guitarist has remained the only original member.

AC/DC (Angus Young)
After the death of his brother Malcolm, Angus Young is the last remaining member of the original AC/DC line-up. Singer Brian Johnson, in fact, joined the group in 1980, but the birth of the band dates back to 1973.

Boston (Tom Scholz)
Founded in 1976, this group has sold many records, despite having released only five studio albums. Only guitarist Tom Scholz remains of the original line-up: the oldest member after him is guitarist and keyboardist Gary Pihl, who joined the group in 1985.
Anthrax (Scott Ian)
Anthrax joined in 1981, founded by guitarist Scott Ian and bassist Dan Lilker, who left the band in 1984 and later founded other successful bands. The singer Joey Belladonna and the drummer Charlie Benante joined the band in 1984 and 1983 respectively.
Scorpions (Rudolf Schenker)
The singer of the band, Klaus Meine, only joined the Scorpions in 1968, i.e. three years after the band was founded by guitarist Rudolf Schenker. The current bass player joined the band in 2005, the drummer in 2016.
Chic (Nile Rodgers)
Chic represent one of the most successful groups in funk and dance music. The band was founded by the guitarist Nile Rodgers, the bassist Bernard Edwards (died 1996), the drummer Tony Thompson (died 2003) and singers Alfa Anderson and Luci Martin, who left the group in 1992.
Journey (Neal Schon)
Journey formed in 1973, but the only member who has been in the band since its foundation is guitarist Neal Schon. Most of the members of the current line-up only joined Journey in the 2000s (including singer Arnel Pineda).
Foreigner (Mick Jones)
The Foreigner were born in 1976 in New York. Ian McDonald left the group in 1980, while the singer Lou Gramm left the band several times. Excluding Jones, all the current members of the Foreigner joined the group from 1995 onwards.
Styx (James Young)
We conclude with a special case, that of Styx. Of the original 1972 line-up, in fact, only James Young remains. Formally, however, bassist Chuck Panozzo is still part of the band, but for health reasons he only occasionally performs live with the group. Since 2003, Panozzo has been joined by bassist Ricky Phillips.
From the past

The music world, but more specifically the rock 'n' roll environment, has always been a place inhabited by cursed artists, bizarre characters, suffering personalities and misunderstood geniuses. The lives of these great artists have often not been easy, and have also given rise to many legends.
The famous 27 Club, for example, is said to have been born out of a pact with the devil. But also the rock stars' passion for drugs gave rise to many urban legends that are still believed to be true by many people today.
It is difficult to say how much truth there is in these tales, but it is undeniable that the stories told have, over the years, increased the myth of the cursed poet, the wild rocker and the 'fast life'.
Curiosities

For various reasons, some bands, as well as some singers, force themselves to stop playing certain songs live, including some of their biggest hits.
Among these bands are Beatles, who, for example, have never played at least ten songs from their entire repertoire live.
The Beatles, of course, are not the only musicians who have had this peculiarity. The same goes for other great artists such as David Gilmour, AC/DC, but also R.E.M. Here are some of the songs that musicians have never performed (or ever again performed) live.
