CURIOSITIES

The sad coincidence of 27 Club: all musicians dead at the age of 27

27 Club is a journalistic expression referring to certain artists, mostly rock singers, all of whom died at the age of 27.

There is even a subgroup of this group called J27, as most of these artists who died at age 27 also had the letter J as their first or last initial (or both).

The deaths of these artists who made music history have shrouded their figures in mystery, making them even more legendary and appreciated despite the fact that, in some cases, many years have passed since they left. Here are who are the artists belonging to 27 Club

What is the 27 Club
27 Club is a journalistic expression referring to a number of artists, mostly singers rock, who all died at the age of 27. There is even a subgroup of this group called J27, as the first name, last name (or both) of most of these musicians began with the letter "J." Pictured is the "27 Club Graffiti" , made in Tel Aviv from John Kiss. Here are who are the musicians who are part of the 27 Club, starting with those from J27.

Janis Joplin (January 19, 1943 - October 4, 1970)
Let's start with the subgroup "J27" with Janis Joplin. The unforgettable performer of such historic songs as "Piece of my Heart" and "Cry Baby" was found dead in a hotel in Los Angeles: the autopsy determined that death was due to heroin abuse.

Jimi Hendrix (November 27, 1942 - September 18, 1970)
Ranked by Rolling Stone magazine as number one on its list of the 100 best guitarists of all time, Jimi Hendrix was found dead in the apartment he rented in London. His girlfriend, who was present in the house, recounted that Hendrix had been suffocated by a sudden vomiting fit, caused by a cocktail of alcohol and tranquilizers.

Founder of The Rolling Stones with Ian Stewart, Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, Brian Jones was gradually removed from the band he created. Jones was found motionless at the bottom of his swimming pool. During the night Pamela Courson, his girlfriend, woke up, hearing him vomiting: he refused to call a doctor and decided instead to take a hot bath. Robert Johnson (May 8, 1911 - August 16, 1938)
Opening the 27 Club was Robert Johnson, protagonist of blues music. Legend, also fueled by Johnson himself, says that the latter allegedly made a pact with the devil, selling him his soul in exchange for the ability to play the guitar better than anyone else. Johnson died suddenly under mysterious circumstances: the death certificate does not attribute the death to any specific cause, but he was probably poisoned.

Amy Winehouse (September 14, 1983 - July 23, 2011)
A singer with a unique and unmistakable voice, unfortunately also famous for serious drug and alcohol problems and eating disorders, which she also often talked about in her songs. Amy was found dead in bed in her house in London. An autopsy found no traces of drugs: her death was due to the so-called stop and go, or excessive alcohol intake after a long period of abstinence.
