The concert was a tribute to Ahmet Ertegün
The idea of the reunion was born to celebrate Ahmet Ertegün, the historic founder ofAtlantic Records, a record company that accompanied the birth of soul andR&B (with artists such as Ray Charles and Aretha Franklin) and the development of many phenomena of the rock such as Led Zeppelin. The proceeds of the concert were donated to the foundation named after Ertegün, which deals with donating funds for school support, from elementary to university.
The concert entered the Guinness World Records
After the announcement of the concert, the site to buy tickets was stormed by 20 million users, to the point that the reservation was immediately interrupted and the approximately 20 thousand tickets available were assigned through a draw.
